Does Divine Intervention trigger with degen?
Wrong place probably, but wondered if anyone could answer the above question for me cheers?
Also another question, what would you say would be the right amount of points in illusion to make distortion safe to use w/o draining too much energy if hit on?
Assuming kiting warriors etc still.
Last question i think,
How do you deal with energy destroyers (esurgers) who use mind wrack? Coz you hide your energy via focus swapping then have to heal and get punished instantly for changing ur focus?
Dont want to waste Cop for mindwrack and if u inspire they can whack it back on straight away. Any tips?

I'm pretty sure degen doesn't trigger it, just like degen won't trigger illusion of weakness.
mindwrack is generally used to punish focus swappers, so that's kind of the point.
as far as distortion goes, you have the breakpoint at 3 illusion for 3 energy lost, and at 8 illusion for 2 energy lost. it really depends on your attribute setup; when I play warrior and I see distortion though, I tend to keep whacking you to drain some energy.
If you're monking and using distortion, I think the 3 illusion is the easiest breakpoint to use, however you have to be very selective as to when you use it...i.e. you see 2 warriors training you and the elementalists start to raise their hands, and your other monk tells you he just got shame applied to him, or some other situation in the same vein.

As I thought thanks for your response.
In the case of mind wrack how would you act tho? Not bother changing focuses? run as far away from the mesmar as possible?
Not taking into account what your other teammates can do for you obviously i just mean in a self sufficient situation.
Is annoying that DI would not trigger on degen coz could be a handy energy saver too.

DI is still an incredibly strong heal if used properly.
as for mindwrack, I am by no means a pro monk, but in that situation, it means you need to have your team pressure the mesmer giving you a hard time. Dead mesmers use no skills. I don't see when you would have issues in a 1 on 1 situation with an e-denial mesmer, since they're not exactly solo material. If you had a more concrete example I'm sure there are others that could give you more advice.

DI triggers on degen. It triggers on death, actually - whenever your health hits 0, it is healed to X instead.
Peace,

You would basically have to kite back and have the mesmer change targets or overextend for you, which your warriors should take advantage of.

Correct, even though the description says "damage", it triggers when your health hits 0.
About the mind wrack thing, deal with it, it's only 80 damage and you keep your energy. If you let them esurge you, it's 80 damage and you lose energy. lesser of two evils would be to weapon swap.
